The International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) is your official proof of Yellow Fever vaccination, recognised at borders worldwide.
Yellow Fever is a serious viral infection spread by mosquitoes in parts of Africa and South America. Many countries require travellers to prove they have been vaccinated before they are allowed to enter — or in some cases, before being permitted to transit through their airports.
The ICVP — colloquially known as the “yellow card” — is a standardised WHO document that records your vaccination details. It can only be issued by an approved Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. Holborn Clinic is designated by the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC), so your certificate is internationally recognised.
Since 2016, the certificate is valid for life following a single dose. There is no booster requirement, and no need to renew your certificate after 10 years (the old rule no longer applies).
The certificate becomes valid for international travel 10 days after vaccination. Plan your visit to us at least 10 days before your departure date if possible.
Requirements vary — some countries require the certificate for all travellers, others only if arriving from an endemic area. This is a representative list.
