Overview
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection worldwide. Most HPV infections clear naturally, but persistent infection with high-risk strains can lead to cervical cancer, anal cancer, throat cancer, and other cancers. HPV also causes genital warts. The HPV vaccine protects against 9 HPV strains — including the 7 high-risk strains responsible for approximately 90% of HPV-related cancers and the 2 strains that cause 90% of genital warts. At Holborn Clinic, we provide the HPV vaccine privately for adults outside the NHS-funded age groups.
